Expo期間中はホテルに宿泊のため、モバイル環境で執筆しています。通常の作業は全部Webベースでできるようになっているのですが、ダイアルアップのモバイルってこれほど遅いものかと改めて感じるところです。普段は常時接続環境ですので、それに慣れきっているからということもあるのです。TILの文書を見て回るのにも、なぜか１つの文書を開くのにけっこう時間がかかります。また、つなぎっぱなしにするのも電話代が大変なんで、文書のテキストをコピーしておくなどする必要もあり、1つの文書を記事化するのにもえらく大変で時間がかかるので、FireWire搭載PowerBookに関する大量の文書の要約はすみませんが、来週にさせてください。

CardBusに対応しているのはG3搭載機とPowerBook 3400

PCカードの規格の1つであるCardBusは、32ビットのインタフェース規格である。PowerBookでCardBusに対応しているのは、PowerBook 3400と、G3プロセッサを搭載した機種である。

USBのクラスドライバについての説明

さまざまな周辺機器がUSBを経由して通信を行えるようにするために、クラスドライバというソフトウエアコンポーネントが必要になる。Mac OS 9では、記憶装置向けにUSB Mass Storage Support 2.0が組みこまれている。ある程度汎用的に作られたドライバなので、周辺機器の特定の機能が利用できないという場合もある。

iMovieのヘルプが表示されない場合

iMovieでヘルプが表示されない場合の対処法についての文書が公開された。システムフォルダ内の「ヘルプ」フォルダに、iMovieのヘルプ文書を入れたフォルダがない場合には、ヘルプの表示がなされない。こうなる原因として、システムを新しいフォルダにインストールしたことがあげられる。以前使っていたフォルダからヘルプ関連のファイルをコピーするのが1つの方法でだ。もし、以前のシステムを削除してしまっていたのなら、CD-ROMから取り出すこともできる。それぞれの方法が、手順でこの文書に説明されている。

FireWire対応のPowerBookに関する技術文書が公開

2月16日に発表された、FireWire搭載のPowerBookに関する文書が、以下のように公開された。また、従来の文書もFireWire搭載機向けに変更されているものもあり、それらも含めて文書名とリンクを紹介した。一部の文書には概要をつけておいた。なお、現在筆者はモバイル中であり、思いのほか通信環境が良くないため、以下の技術文書についての概要は、来週改めて記事として配信することにする。とにかく早く文書を確認したい方は、リンクを手がかりに原本を参照してもらいたい。
